Fast Electric Nationals held in Brighton, Michigan. 2009 marked a major effort from both Enerland and Team RumRunner. In 2009 Enerland decided to sponsor Team RumRunner and also sponsor rumrunnerracing.com the original and largest Fast Electric forum on the planet www.rumrunnerracing.com, Team RumRunner promised to make a huge effort on behalf of their new sponsors and at the 2009 NAMBA Nationals Team RumRunner delivered on that promise.
Enerland Batteries is happy to announce that Team RumRunner Racer Doug Twaits Jr. has just collected several prestigious titles utilizing Enerland lithium Polymer Cells; the titles include
- Individual National High Points Champion
- “Mr. Offshore” where the endurance offshore races at 4 minutes over a one mile course.
- P-Mono (4s) National Champion
- P-Hydro (4s) National Champion
- P-Offshore (4s) National Champion
- Q-Hydro (6s) National Champion
- P-Spec Hydro (4s) National Champion
- Ultimate Offshore (10s) National Champion
- Limited Scale Hydro (4s) National Champion
- Limited Scale Mono (4s) National Champion
- And numerous 2nd and third place finishes in N-2 Mono, N-2 Hydro, N-2 Sport, Q-Offshore, Q-Mono combined with other Podium finishes by Team RumRunner resulted in overall Team High Points Champions!
For those of you who do not know Doug, He is a multi-year National High Points Champion; Multiple Record Holder with Many National Titles, High Point Champion, Mr. Offshore, Team High Points champion and the list goes on and on. Doug has been racing seriously since he was 14 years old and comes from a racing heritage as Doug’s dad is Doug Twaits Senior, a NAMBA Hall of Fame Member and Former Fast Electric Chairman. Enerland congratulates Doug, and all the members of Team RumRunner for an outstanding effort.
Enerland was not only in the winners circle this year, but supported upcoming racers with Donations of the popular 4S 1P packs used in the spec class racers, those winners were Mr. Dave Newland of Arizona, And Mr. Howard Tucker of Ohio, congratulations guys! Look for more Enerland supported events throughout the upcoming months.
As for the event itself, with the MMEU guys (Mid Michigan Electrics Unlimited) it is always a class event, held at Island Park Recreation Center in Brighton, Michigan, the format, the professionalism and the courtesy put forth by this club is outstanding, if you have never attended the Michigan cup or the Fast Electric Nationals you are missing some of the best run, most organized and fastest racing with the best racers on the planet, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year.
